But you got ‘em, too. A great quote is from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland:
“You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.”
Most of us are broken in some way, and through the cracks our light shines.
The holidays are always difficult for me because of the death of my mom. It sucks and I’m still angry about it.
We’ve been told, at least in the military to watch our Soldiers, the ones that have been through some shit. Why? Because we’ve been told that holidays is when people want to leave us.
It’s a myth. Hit the link, it explains. The reason why we believe it, is that it’s hard to be alone during the holidays. It’s hard to mourn a loved one, during a holiday.
I’m not saying slack off. If you know someone that is in need, but won’t say something, then you step up. Sometimes all we need to know is that someone cares.
I think about killing myself every day. I think about how I would do it, and who would actually give a shit, not many. I know I would have people say they are sorry, or say that they are upset about it when I know they are liars.
I once had threatened it out loud. I had enough, and I really wanted to end it. Someone talked me down, but people that I considered my friends told others I was looking for attention. Ever since then, I have closed myself off. This has been the first time I’ve been real with someone, including my therapist, in a long time. I do, I think about killing myself every day. Doesn’t mean I will do it, but I do think about it. It’s the holidays and I don’t have my mom to talk to.
So, to those who like to tell people they are seeking attention, instead of helping or turning their back on their friends, this is for you.
But for those that care, keep on keeping on. The world needs more kindness, more smiles, more love. I will never give up on someone, I will answer my phone at 3 AM if I need to. And I will always ask, because I care. And like I said, all someone needs is a kind word, a hug, or something to let them know that people care.
