Hope You Had The Time of Your Life
The importance of the song, is to live life to the fullest. The tragedy in Las Vegas is horrible and that's what I want to talk about.
This is a hard post to write. I just felt as if I had to get some things off my chest about the shooting in Las Vegas. I promise the next post will be more uplifting.
The city is mourning. It’s hard to fathom how someone could shoot into a crowd of thousands, during a concert. People go to concerts to enjoy the music, to meet new people, to unwind. One would never think that failed fireworks, was actually bullets. No one expects to be shot at.
It’s sad that it takes a tragedy for people to come together. But the city certainly did just that. Metro Police were on scene and found the man, before more could be killed. One of the fastest response times in the nation. The first responders moved the injured as fast as they could, to turn around and go back for more. Even strangers were throwing people in their car and getting them to the hospital or safety. This entailed that many were saved. The medical staff stepped up their staff and got to work. People didn’t care if they knew the person next to them or not, it was about getting people out. People were taking off their shirts to stop bleeding, police officers were using their fingers to plug bullet holes while others ran towards the fire.
By 6 in the morning, the city also responded by lining up to give blood for the hospitals, that were in desperate need. That shows a city that cares.
As a city, we will mourn for the lives lost in a senseless act of evil. It’s hard to wrap my head around a 64-year-old man snapping like that. When I think 64 years old, I think grandpa, living life to the fullest by playing pickleball or bingo.
The world is lacking kindness and human decency. We’ve lost ourselves. We’ve lost our fellow man. It’s time to get back to that. Because if we continue to lose it, we will have lost our humanity.
This isn’t a right or left issue, this is an us issue. Be nice to one another, hold your loved ones close, and make everyday worth living. Hopefully in time, Las Vegas will move on from this. If you want to help, there are various fundraisers for the victims, email me. But for now, pray for those lost, and their families, pray for speedy recovery to the ones injured.
