Classic line, don’t you think? Yes, it’s a classic. But very fitting to what I want to do with my life, even though I don’t think I will ever get to use it, you know that whole professionalism thing. Can’t go around yelling at parolees, can I?
I want to be a probation officer. I was in school for teaching, but that is not my calling. Even though I would make a damn good one. I think that I can help those with second chances, in hopes that they don’t make the same mistake again. I hope to be a guiding light for some that might seem lost.
I switched to criminal justice and then in my research found that I don’t need a college education, even though it will help with promotion. And when I say research, I did Googleand Bing
searches. And I called Metro in Las Vegas. Always good to be prepared.
So now I must start kicking my own ass so I can get my 1 ½ miles down to 20 minutes and work on my pushups. I want to get in shape before going to the academy. That also means self-defense classes as well. So, I’m also considering boxing and martial arts to help me prepare.
All of this is me following my dreams. Despite what others say, this is what I want to do and I think I will be good at it. I have a dream and I’m going to make it a reality. Just like Dorothy did Somewhere over the Rainbow. What about you?
