You gotta get out more
Go and experience life! No matter how old you are. The great outdoors is the greatest drug ever. It’s not illegal, it’s just fresh air.
Sometimes, veteran or not, we all shut ourselves off from the world. Not because you’re depressed, just because. You can’t explain it. I get it. Sometimes it’s laziness. Sometimes it is depression. Sometimes you don’t want to put on pants. I wish I could go to class in my pajamas, but then I think WWMMT. What would my mother think? Laugh, but you know you do it, too.
Branch out of your comfort zone. Run a 5k, or ride some horses, rob a bank. Hey, I’m not saying do it, but jail would definitely be a change of scenery. I’m doing a 5k on May 6th. The Color Vibe. I love doing these fun runs. Yes, I just said fun and run in the same sentence. When the Army says fun run, it was never fun. But these are different. I go by myself usually, but I always tend to meet new people, even though I am shy and hate everyone, lol. And some of the proceeds go to a good cause. I’ll be sure to post pictures of the aftermath later.
And then the next day, I’m going to an event for Merging Vets and Players.
This my MVP family. Selfie taken by Eric. Good group of guys. Love them!
We are going to a ranch and having an event with a group called Horses for Heroes.
So, I get to be with like-minded sports people and then my other family, veterans. I do feel more comfortable around my veteran family, than I do others, but I’m learning to live a little.
So, get up, dress up, show up. If you have to put your hair in a ponytail, play some gangsta rap, and handle it.
Just like Ferris Bueller says, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
Stop and take it in.
